Any chance that Borderlands of Adventure & Caverns of Chaos, Catacombs of Chaos are a tribute to an old favorite- Keep on the Borderlands?
Maybe a bundle deal sometime?

Greetings.

No, on both counts. The Catacombs and Caverns of Chaos (CV1 & 2) and Borderlands of Adventure (CM1) are from two different product lines, although they could be used together in the same campaign, and are two different types of adventures. The CV's are set in, around and under the town of Ravenor. The introductory sections of CV1 take the GM and players step-by-step through the first few encounters and set the stage for the bulk of the adventure. There is a lot of concrete detail and the NPC's are well defined, especially in terms of their objectives and their relationship to the current happenings. I think of the CV's as more "storyline" types of adventures, although not linear and there is no telling what will happen once the adventurers take the stage.

Borderlands of Adventure, I consider a generic mini-setting or mini-campaign. There's a wilderness map, detailed to 1 mile per hex, encounter tables, and mapped and keyed adventure sites. There's background info to set the stage and explain why things are the way they are. There is enough detail to create connections between different elements in the adventure and to a grander scheme, but nothing as concrete as a storyline. CM1 sets the stage. Drop the characters in, start the game, and the story will develop as the GM and players interact within the setting.
