Mutant Terrain

Do you use hazardous terrain or enviornment in your games? Either as a hazard itself or in order to make an encounter more difficult (besides radioactivity I mean). Do you have areas of toxic substance or acidic liquids? How about corridors or rooms made treacherous by Spider Goat webs or the icy bile of the Vomit Fly. Do you stick to just straight damage or have the substance also degrade characteristics or equipment (acid lowering Armor Class as an example)? I'm mainly interested in examples of this used in an enclosed location like a ruined building, but wilderness examples would also be appreciated.

You might want to check out Derek Holland's Creatures of the Wasteland: Habitats. It's only $1.50 right now over at RPGNow and has a ton of excellent ideas for hazardous wilderness terrain.
Running: Arizona Territory 1873 (FATE Old West pbp), The Northwest Barony (Labyrinth Lord pbp)
Playing: Night's Dark Terror (Labyrinth Lord pbp)
